One of the most internationally renowned companies in contemporary Australian circus is back with a monolithic work of scale that unites audience, acrobat and choir into a single mesmerising organism.
Winner of the award for Outstanding Production, Outstanding Design and Best Circography at the 2021 International Circus Awards.
When facing change you have two options - to tame the beast or to ride the beast.
For acrobatics and physical theatre company, Gravity & Other Myths, 2020 was a beast like no other and taming it was never a viable option.
From the sobering scenario of becoming an acrobatics based company who couldn’t touch each other, our most ambitious work to date was conceived.
The Pulse is a monolithic work of scale that tells a story of cause and effect. How we, as people, communities or clusters of particles, respond to the subtle or significant changes that are continually happening around us.
Geoff Cobham’s sentient lighting design, with Darcy Grant's inspired direction and Ekrem Eli Phoenix's driving score inhabited by the formidable Orféo Català Girls Choir from Barcelona conducted by Buia Reixach create an organic synchronicity of human movement and sound - all to the beat of your own pounding pulse!
