CANCELLATION OF THE MICC 2020 IN MONTRÉAL AND PREPARATION OF A VIRTUAL MICC
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the government restrictions on travel and assembly, TOHU announces the cancellation of the 6th edition of the International Market of Contemporary Circus (MICC) event, which was to take place from July 6 to 9 in Montréal. Nevertheless, TOHU stands firm in supporting the field of contemporary circus. The MICC team is busy developing a “virtual MICC”, which will be an ongoing platform designed to continue the MICC’s work to develop, sustain, and invigorate artistic creation and touring for contemporary circus. Stay tuned for more information!
Welcome to the 6th edition of the International Market of Contemporary Circus (MICC), a TOHU initiative embedded within North America’s premier international contemporary circus festival, MONTRÉAL COMPLÈTEMENT CIRQUE.
The MICC Market constitutes North America’s most important single-discipline professional encounter for the field of contemporary circus, offering North American, European, and other international presenters from all disciplines a one-stop research opportunity to discover and connect with touring artists and works from Canada and around the world.
This event features market-specific networking, dialogue, artist pitches, and other activities.

Since its inception, our series of activities dedicated to professionals has grown at an impressive speed: participation in the event has increased tenfold, going from 30 professionals in 2010 to more than 300 from 25 countries in 2019!
With its International Market of Contemporary Circus, TOHU is proud to have helped increased the visibility of so many circus artists and professionals over the years and to have created a key annual point of encounter for the circus world.
▪ Support and promote the development of circus arts on the international scene.
