My Island, My Heart
Les 7 doigts de la main - Québec - Canada

DATES
From September 8 to October 16
What makes one fall in love with a city? What makes one decide to stay, reclaim it as their own, as their home?
In My Island, My Heart, The 7 Fingers uses their signature fusion of acrobatics, theatre, dance and multimedia to tell the story of a foreigner who has relocated to Montreal. Initially following a love interest, that relationship soon disintegrates, and yet the relationship with the city itself continues to flourish, and proves enduring. Our protagonist followed one love but found another: a veritable true love for Montreal itself.
Presented as an immersive circus cabaret, the show celebrates our beloved city in the river-- its pounding, thriving cultural pulse, its intriguing contradictions, its unique beauty.
About the 7 Fingers
Created in Montreal, it was in 2002 that the collective Les 7 Doigts de la main came to life. After more than 15 years of individual experience as circus artists, the 7 co-founders of the collective realized their dream by launching one of their biggest life projects: to be both circus artists and directors of their shows to express all their creativity.
The name of the company reflects the close unity of its members: Isabelle Chassé, Shana Carroll, Patrick Léonard, Faon Shane, Gypsy Snider, Sébastien Soldevila and Samuel Tétreault.
Les 7 Doigts evolves with seven artistic co-directors whose objective is the same artistic goal of a circus d'auteur. They want to create a new type of experience, more human, intimate and poetic.
