Experimental circus

Walking tour.
The meeting place will be sent to ticket holders 1 week before the performance.

An experiment in clever pleasure
From the balconies, alleys or courtyards of Plateau Mont-Royal and Mile End, along three distinct routes, nine artists deliver various performances exploring the evocative and inexhaustible theme of fun! Spectators walk from one place to another for a fascinating multidisciplinary experience, lasting approximately an hour.

While there is a persisting preconceived idea linking circus to excitement and entertainment, these nine creators probe this notion of pleasure in an experimental and critical manner. Coming from circus, dance, cinema and scenography, and all chosen for the relevance of their approach and the aesthetic richness of their universe, they visit it through praise, derision, activism or deconstruction...

After the success of Se prendre in 2019, we happily welcome this daring company’s new creation.

An unpredictable itinerary for adventurous walkers!

Presented as part of the Festival's “L'AUTRE CIRQUE” program, this project is produced in collaboration with La Chapelle, scène contemporaine.

Different artists will be in the different path.

About the company

In a decreasing, intimist approach and far from conventional performance venues, LION LION creates tinkering and interdisciplinary works. The bodies address the ineffable, the delicate and the dizzy. LION LION has presented Se prendre (apartment show, 2019), Être avec (performative walk, 2021) and Coconut (short film, 2021). Claudel Doucet, artistic director, is now delighted to put forward the projects of accomplice artists by offering them a carte blanche with FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN.

About Claudel Doucet Claudel’s creative approach is immersed in interdisciplinarity. She collaborates as a director and dramaturge at the National Circus School of Montréal and with various partners among which Zip Zap Academy (Cape Town) and Uniarts (Stockholm).

She co-founded Cie du Poivre Rose (Brussels). In march 2017, she created QUE NOUS SOYONS, a site specific project produced by The 7 Fingers and LA SERRE - arts vivants. A graduate of the National Circus School (Montreal, 2004),
