A fresh, uncomplicated and intelligent close-proximity circus.

- Coup de théâtre !

Chute ! is an unidentified flying object which we know will ultimately end its journey on the ground. Intimate acrobatic conversation around the theme of the fall, this atypical form brings together its small audience all around its performers, who happily demonstrate their theory by literally taking the plunge.
When someone falls, we laugh. Why is that? Riddled with references from Isaac Newton, Bruce Lee as well as Jean-Sébastien Bach, the play dissects the fall by challenging the audience and leading the people with humour to philosophical considerations that concern us all.

A spectacular moment!

In the summer of 2008, Porte 27, a collective created inter alia by Matthieu Gary, is founded with the objective to combine encounters, research labs and creation of shows through their art projects. Chute !, their 5th production, is “written and plunged” by Matthieu Gary and Sidney Pin. Both trained at the Centre des Arts du Cirque Balthazar in Montpellier, the former completes his training at the Centre national des Arts du cirque de Châlons-en-Champagne (CNAC), and the latter attends the University of Dance and Circus in Stockholm. After graduating, they each experience their own performances and creations before coming together, in September 2015, to create this spectacular lecture. Today, Matthieu and Sidney own their company, La Volte, to continue the work already begun with Chute !

La Volte is a circus company created in 2018 by Matthieu Gary and Sidney Pin. After creating and touring Chute ! in 2016, the duo settled in Nantes, France, to perform research on acrobatics by putting together shows/lectures, performances as well as workshops, mainly for amateurs.

A talented research on balancing and jumping
