For everyone

Let the festivities begin!
Acrobatic feats competing in daring and dexterity to the sound of irresistible West African dance rhythms: a taste of what awaits us at the festive Cabaret Yam!, Kalabanté Productions’ newest creation. In this unique artistic blend as spectacular as it is inimitable, we will honor the meeting of cultures in the company of several artists, including musicians, acrobats, singers and dancers. The show will feature African percussion, kora, saxophone, juggling, hand-to-hand, dance... Among these performers, the remarkable Yamoussa Bangoura, multidisciplinary artist and founder of the company, who has been applauded in various productions, including those of Cirque Éloize, Cavalia and Cirque du Soleil.

"If you can talk, you can sing. If you can walk, you can dance." That is the motto of Kalabanté, which has orchestrated a wonderful summer evening under the circus tent; a blazing and exotic evening, a great breath of intoxicating joy and shared good humor. Be part of the party!

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Kalabanté Productions was created in 2007 by Yamoussa Bangoura, a multidisciplinary artist of Guinean origin who had always dreamed of founding a circus school and having his own multidisciplinary company in African arts. Kalabanté means "a child with drive, ambition and exceptional courage" in the Soussou language. This NPO has a double mission: the promotion of African artistic cultures and the realization of humanitarian projects and cultural exchanges between Canada and Guinea. By putting forward multiculturalism, the organization demonstrates to the audience that it is possible to be united and supportive, to communicate and live together despite cultural differences. Yamoussa Bangoura has been living in Montreal for several years and shares his values and passion by teaching the various artistic disciplines he masters in circus arts, African dance and traditional West African music.
