The show

Ode to joy

An immense steel giant stands before the horizon. Immobile, fascinating, it seems to wait for life to take hold of it. It calls for us to reach its summit to dominate the landscape too.
At dusk, a group of acrobats appears on the horizon. They advance like a clan that has come to storm the impassive giant, to set it on fire, to give it life.
During the whole performance, the twelve acrobats climb it, hang from it, deploying all their energy to reach its summit. Trampolines, counterweights on pulleys, vertical dance, falls from great heights and aerial acrobatics are the means by which they measure themselves against it.
To realize this extraordinary event, director Benoit Landry has surrounded himself with a team of high-level performers and experienced designers. The musical framework, both orchestral and rooted in electronic music, is based on well-known classical works.
The large-scale show expresses the fascination of the summits that humans have always had, the feeling of strength and exhilarating freedom that we feel when we confront the power of what is beyond us. It is an ode to joy and excess.
